She holds a PhD in Mechanics and Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon. She has been studying the interactions between humans and robots and helps create robotic figures for the entertainment industry. Robots, and their potential, have fascinated her for her entire life.

She is one of the leading cancer research scientists in the country and is currently at the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She was previously on staff at Dana-Farber in Boston. She studies cancer and how it seems to be evolving over time. She received her PhD in Evolutionary Biology from Harvard in 2005.
