The idea of having easier beverage service has been around for a long time now. All you need to do is walk into any fast food restaurant and you can see the bank of soda dispensers there so you can fill up and get your own soda when you are ready. It may not seem like much more of an advancement of the old automated coffee machines that have been around for years as well. Technology however has made great strides and improvements in the area where beverage service is so that today you can get the beverage of your choice not only faster but make many of these items right in your home without much fuss and with just the press of a button.
Drinks of all Types are Available Now
Most people are long familiar with coffeemakers that can do everything for you, including freshly grinding the coffee beans and brewing you a fresh cup of coffee whenever you may want it. Today, the advances made with the Keurig coffee systems allow you to get a single serving of coffee, with hundreds of varieties to choose from, in about a minute. The Keurig systems have even evolved enough where you can get more exotic drinks such as cappuccinos, lattes and the like to go along with your coffee, hot chocolate or tea. Keurig is taking steps to get involved in the making of things such as your own soda much in the way that the SodaStream devices that are on the market now can do for you where you can have your own bottle of seltzer or soda in moments. The difference between the two is that Keurig has partnered with Coca-Cola on the project to create Coke products that people are familiar with and now by name.
The Goal of Make It Yourself Beverage Makers
There are a couple of goals you can see quickly with devices such as this. The first is that it will be a great way to cut down on the amount of plastic used overall in the purchase of soda bottles regularly. If everyone has the ability to make their own sodas at home in seconds with the tastes they have grown to love, they will but less of the bottles in stores, cutting back on the waste in the plastic that is disposed and cutting back on the production of the plastic bottles, both of which can benefit the environment. You will also be able to make a single serving whenever you want one, providing you with much more convenience than ever before.
While Keurig has not yet released their version of the product, it is seen as being available in 2015 for the consumer. There are also already movements and devices for other beverages as well, such as sports drinks and flavored waters, to tap into those markets as well. There are still a few things that may need to be worked out by these companies, such as ways to make it easier to recycle single use pods and the like, but the future looks bright for the ideas of everyone being able to make their own drinks at home without having to run to the store or the vending machine.
